Dr. Anil Keswani is a distinguished healthcare executive currently serving as the Corporate Senior Vice President and Chief Medical & Operations Officer for Ambulatory Care at Scripps Health.
Scripps Health is a leading not‐for‐profit integrated healthcare delivery system based in La Jolla, California with 16,800 employees, over 3,000 foundation and affiliated physicians and an annual revenue of over $4 billion.
In his pivotal role, Dr. Keswani oversees the Scripps Medical Foundation, which encompasses four medical groups – Scripps Clinic, Scripps Coastal, Scripps Cardiothoracic and Vascular and Scripps Hospitalists ‐ totaling over 1,300 clinicians.
The medical foundation operates an extensive network comprising 32 ambulatory sites with laboratory, imaging, urgent cares and state‐of‐the‐art ambulatory surgery centers.
As the System Ambulatory Operations and Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Keswani provides strategic leadership and management oversight across several key areas, including:
- Scripps ACO and Value‐Based Care while steering Scripps’ participation in the commercial ACO with Qualcomm and the Medicare Shared Savings Program
- Systemwide Clinical Service Lines across the entire Scripps Health system.
- Post‐Acute Network of Skilled Nursing Facilities and Home Health to ensure seamless transitions and continuity of care for patients in skilled nursing facilities and home healthsettings
- Clinical Research with many industry and NIH funded grants
- Health Equity
- Executive Health
- Laboratory services for the system
- Ambulatory imaging including being the President of an imaging radiology medical group
Dr. Keswani also serves as a board member to Integrated Healthcare Association (IHA) and the Seaport Scripps Joint Venture. IHA is a prominent integrated healthcare association dedicated to advancing high‐value, patient‐centered care in California. The association fosters collaboration among healthcare stakeholders, including providers, payers, and purchasers, to develop
innovative solutions that improve the quality, affordability, and accessibility of healthcare services.
Dr. Keswani joined Scripps Health in 2012, bringing with him a wealth of experience from Advocate Healthcare.
A graduate of Boston University Medical School, Dr. Keswani holds the distinction of completing the honors accelerated BA/MD six‐year medical program.
While Dr. Keswani’s leadership continues to shape and elevate Scripps Health in the dynamic landscape of modern healthcare, he believes that his first priorities are his family.
With a loving wife of 28 years, three cherished children, and a rescue dog, Dr. Keswani’s first priorities lie within the warmth and support of his family. Their unwavering encouragement and understanding serve as the foundation for his professional pursuits, guiding him in his mission to make a lasting impact on healthcare and enhance the well‐being of communities.
